Gerardo Sanchez Henkel, head of the ministry’s legal department, told Mexican radio 100.1 that due to the complexity of the Telmex case, the 24-hour period ordered by the court could be extended. The court’s order puts further pressure on the country’s Communications and Transport Ministry, which has to agree to change Telmex’s concession - granted more than two decades ago - in order to add pay TV to the company’s service portfolio. MEXICO CITY, May 12 (Reuters) - Mexico’s top fixed-line telephone company Telmex said on Thursday a local court has ordered the government to respond in 24 hours to its request to be allowed to offer pay television services in Mexico.
